QSO last week (South Asia special)2011/04/03 22:33

21st Mar.
National holiday, Shun-bun no hi that means "Spring epinox day", I stayed home with Rumi, my wife. I didn't any contact during daytime and nothing to do special. However, when I saw DX cluster, I found VU4PB on it. I ignored it because I think it is merely a VU, but..., I rememberd at that time, it's a separete entity! I didn't have any contact with Andaman. I heard it on 12m SSB, it was just above noise level but recognizable as RS 55. I called him again and again, then I've got it at 0601Z. Yeeees, it was an new entity through entire bands! After that, I found he went down 15m CW. I called him again for 30minutes, then I've got it at 0743Z.
I was very pleased to get VU4, I called S21YZ on 12m CW but there was no callback at all, while I thought it was easy. I continued calling for more than 30minutes but signal strength got weaker... why can't I work with it?
I called SM5CAK on 20m CW around 1330Z but I've lost by W station...
26th Mar.
I saw VU4PB on the cluster and called him around 0230Z on 17m CW, but... never called back. It was a heavy pile-up, so, he cannot pick JA up so quickly...sigh.
27th Mar.
I was looking for VU4PB on the cluster. He was up on 17m SSB and I found his strong signal. I've got it 10kHz up around after 0100Z. Then I called S21YZ on 20m CW for 30 minutes since 0130Z, but no call back again...why?
Around after 0300Z, I called VU4PB on 12m CW but gave up due to very weak signal... I've abondoned calling rare stations. For a change of scenery, I was calling CQ DX again and again beaming south. I was finally called by BA8AT Li, oh it came from west. When I beam to the west, signal became 599 very strong. So I continued calling CQ DX for south but no one call me... sigh.
I wached several bands since 0400Z but silent without WPX SSB... Then finally I found KL7AI Mike on 20m CW and call him. I thought it's an easy QSO due to his strong signal 599, but... I had to call him again 4 times. It's natural that he used kW amplifier but I was running always 50W.
I saw S21YZ again on the cluster 12m CW at around 0500Z. Then I call him again and again, finally I've got it on 0507Z yeahhh. After that, I continued watching 15m CW and found UA0UZ Valery then call him on 0514Z. He send me a good signal but have some QSB... I thought that 17m was better than 15m and QSY to 17m soon.
At first I called S21YZ on SSB, I cannot heve any call bak... Then I watched CW band for Eu stations. Ah I can pick R2MM up and called back at 0721Z, he could not confirm my name due to QRM but he again continue CQ DX on the same frequency just after our QSO...hi.
Anyway it was a good condition, I decided to call CQ DX on CW. I was called by OK1FGS Karel using 100W and Dipole, ah it's a better conditon than I thought. Then I heard CQ from YL2BHB so QSY down 1kHz and calling CQ DX, I was called by UA1OJL Alex at 0817Z. Even he was running 100W into GP, signal was 569 feeling good! I continued CQ DX and was called by DK1KQ Uwe at 0826 then called by RA3APK Igor he was very weak but could pick his name. I continued CQ and worked with RU3DZ Vlad, he was not good but just could pick his name. On the contrary, I worked with RA1CP Serge at 0846Z, he was running 100W into dipole but 569. Next I was called OM5TZ Zoli. He run 100W into 3element yagi beam so stable signal. Finally I was called by 9A2QG, he was very very weak 449 and overhanged by many stations calling S21YZ...
I could hear 8J1RL on 10m CW at around 0930Z, I called him again and again but no call me back. It was more difficult to work than VU4... but finally I could get back at 1006Z yeah.
I called S21YZ on 15m CW 1010Z but could not work. I gave up for 5 minutes because his signal was weak... I changed my target to A52J on 17m CW then I've got it at 1031Z. Without a break, I called S21YZ, he made a cause for me stopping CQ DX by overwhelming many stations calling him... I worked with him on 1053Z. I don't know why but S21 was more difficult than VU4 on this weekend.
At a night time, I worked with JQ2XII/2 Inaba-san, JF2BER Aoki-san, JJ0NSU/2 Ono-san on 70cm FM in a row. I felt that the best rag-chew would be on FM bands!
I heard from my friend JF2OZH Uematsu-san that he heard my 17m QSOs in his car mobile station at evening time... ah clunky thing...
This weekend, WPX SSB was held but I didn't attend it but working WARC band CW QSO joyfully... I was tired?
